Photoshop Elements 5.0, roughly four hours of work on and off.

This is the first of a set of images I'm doing for LiveJournal RPG userpics in my free time. The 15 images will range in emotions as well as different parts of the RPG timeline (so you will probably see him in at least 3 of his 7 different outfit changes, pffff).

Finally finished this first one! I'm practicing my cellshading and background work, and also my ability to correctly mimic a screenshot look. The lineart on this is too thick and dark, I think, but its ultimate purpose is to be resized and saved with noise and artifacts, so I guess I did pretty ok...

Also I AM SO PROUD OF THAT BACKGROUND BAAAAAAAAAW

I will never be able to draw a forest like that ever again. OTL

The finished avatar pulls off the screenshot look quite nicely, actually... XD Not perfect, but I'm happy with it, and it's serving its purpose so yaaay.

Na, I have a consistency problem. If this had taken me less than four hours, I might consider myself a little talented in the area, but making something this clean is really difficult for me.
